Sales can be a series of ups and downs. Rejection can be rude and brutal, and it can be constant.  You might feel that you are being crushed by quotas. It can make the salesperson wonder why he chose this profession, question the meaning of life and consider asking for a refund on his college degree. This is not anyone’s idea of a good time.

Traditionally, corporations measure sales performance by one of two factors: the amount of sales or the number of outbound phone calls. Winning deals is exciting, and generally carries a financial reward, but wouldn’t it be nice if upper management rewarded you in some way for your efforts as well? Enter Gamescope, ZOHO’s way of adding a bit of gamification to your workplace.

Gamification means that you apply elements typically associated with a game to a “nongame” environment. The goal of gamification is to inspire collaboration, sharing and interaction between two groups of people. Typically, you create the “game” by creating a competition that includes basic rules and some kind of point system.

Your Starbucks Rewards is a great example of gamification. You gain “stars” with every purchase which you can use for free drinks and food; Starbucks gains a loyal customer who will continue to purchase their coffee to gain more rewards.

ZOHO CRM comes with 5 pre-configured games or “trophies” which you can either modify or remove including “Noteworthy Notetakers” and “Master Mailer.” You can add up to 20 custom trophies. Each game awards a “trophy” to the top scorer, and a “badge” to anyone who reaches the target; ZOHO will send out notifications along the way as these goals are met.
