I’ve been using ACT for years – bought it from you the past couple years.
This year I’m officially retired. So $400+ is a lot of money for me to spend to use ACT for only contact info and notes. If I don’t pay the annual fee this year, what are the consequences?
Is there any other CRM you can recommend – even if you do not sell it – that is less expensive. I know I would probably have to re-enter all my contacts in a new CRM, but that would mean that I would clean up my current ACT file with lots of contacts I’ve haven’t used I many years.
Hi Rhonda, yes, if you currently have an Act subscription and don’t pay the renewal you will not be able to open Act. You do have a number of options. First of all, you won’t have to “re-enter” your contacts if you move to another CRM product. There are ways to simply export your basic contact information out of Act and import it into another product like Zoho. There are a few things you’ll need to think about before you make the move.
* Basic contact info (name, address, phone & email) is always easy to export from your old product and import into the new one.
* You will most probably need to pay a conversion cost if you want other information including your notes
* You may have to recreate any custom fields you created
* You’ll have to learn a new product
You can always move to a less expensive product like Zoho CRM for $168/year provided you have no more than 10 custom fields. But again you’ll have to pay someone to convert your data and you will have to learn something new.
