I field a lot of calls about various aspects of CRM; I have yet to receive a call from a CRM user asking to add more work into their schedule. I am, however, asked for just the opposite: “How do I Avoid Doing Double Entry between my CRM and other applications that I use?”
Typically, CRM users are forced to add the same contact information into multiple products unless the products can be integrated together in some way.
With Act! CRM your best way to integrate Act! to another product is via Zapier. Zapier is an online tool that allows you to connect your favorite apps to Act to improve your productivity. It’s designed to help you move data between different applications without the need for complex programming or custom coding.
Here’s how Zapier works:
- Trigger: A Trigger is an event that starts the automation. It could be an action like receiving an email, a new entry in a spreadsheet, or a new form submission.
- Action: An Action is the task you want to perform automatically after the Trigger event occurs. It can be something like creating a new task in a project management tool, sending an email, adding data to a database, or posting a message on a chat platform.
- Zap: A Zap is a combination of a Trigger and an Action. When the Trigger event occurs, Zapier automatically performs the specified Action.
Although Zapier is an easy and inexpensive way to integrate Act! CRM with other products you use, it’s not ideal. For example, you are limited to moving the data offered by Zapier. Finicky at times; you might find yourself going back to the Zapier website from time to time to manually push through data that might not have transferred successfully.
Zoho CRM also works with Zapier. However, Zoho provides integrations with a variety of third-party applications. Altogether there are over 750 apps on the marketplace that are designed to connect Zoho with other applications. Here are some popular third-party integrations commonly used with Zoho;.
