Top Act Tips from the Top Act Consultants
Talk about mixing business with pleasure! I recently took a cruise with over a dozen of the top Act Consultants. We had a contest to see who could come up with the best Act tip. I have to admit that I learned a few new tricks even though I have been an Act Consultant for over 20 years and have written 7 books on the topic.
Join me at my webinar as I share over a dozen Act tips that will boost your productivity. Even seasoned Act users will learn a trick or two! I know I did! The webinar is free to users who have an active ACT! subscription through Tech Benders and $15 for everyone else. The registration fee can be applied to any purchase made at Tech Benders by 3/29/19.
Extra Bonus! Got a tip? Send it in! One lucky winner will have their tip included in the Webinar – and will win their choice of a free addon!

I have a question I thought someone may have an answer for. I’m currently using ACT! V18 and developed custom fields for my contacts. I have to update these particular fields every quarter. Is there some automated method to do this instead of manually updated them?
Hi Nick,
I’m not sure what you mean by “manually updating.” One method would be to wipe out the field values globally using the Act “replace field” functionality of Edit/Replace field and then import in your data. If that’s what you are already doing you can purchase the OakMerge product.
My association has used ACT! since 2007 but I am somewhat of a new user. I have only been the primary within our organization for ACT! for about a year and my skills are only on a generally basic level. I would like to sharpen those skills with either online training or at least with a good book that would assist me with shortcuts and assist with using the tools in the application like labels, letters and templates.
Can you provide recommendations? The association allows some funds for training and I would like to use mine for ACT!
Hi Karen,
I’m glad you found “this Karen” at TechBenders.com
I can suggest a few places to look for Act help & training:
• I have many training videos on my youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/ACTExpert
• You can purchase one of my Dummies books; although outdated it still covers all of the basic areas in ACT!: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0470192259/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=techbendersco-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=0470192259&linkId=88b6c71f3e14c656f9ce62ba4d3b5a5e
• You can access the ACT! Video Library: http://training-act.com/act/act-lib-prem/?courseId=whats_new&videoId=1
I am also available for personalized instruction on an hourly basis.
