As an older user of Act 2006, I understand the software and how it works, hence my eagerness to continue with an updated ACT. Learning a new CRM would involve time, effort and a change in the way I work and it could distract me from my daily objectives of single handedly running a business.
Have you got any Act Pros, left that I could purchase, as I am reluctant to move to an annual subscription?
Hi Gary,
Swiftpage stopped selling the Pro product several years ago. However, resellers like myself were able to make purchases through 9/15 but they all went through Swiftpage who manages the actual licensing and they only gave us a tiny commission on those sales. There was simply no way to “buy up” extra licenses so no, I don’t have Act! Pro available nor does anyone else. And, because each Pro license was limited to 2 installations be very careful if a seat does happen to pop up on eBay.
If you want to stay in Act! the current subscription price is $355 through 12/31/23 for the desktop version which will require a renewal next year to remain operational.
I was reading what you wrote on line about retired versions of ACT. I have been using this software forever and would like to keep using the version I have, which is Act! Pro Version 21.1.187.0, Update 4
I am thinking of upgrading to Windows 11. Will my software work on this new system?
Hi Mike,
You have a 50/50 chance. If you have already installed Act twice before you won’t be able to register the software on a new machine. In addition, if you use Microsoft Office with Act (Excel, Work or Outlook) the integrations won’t work if your new machine. Finally, Act v21 is not “certified” for Windows 11. That means you might run into issues getting it installed, or certain areas of the program might not work correctly.
