A couple of years ago Swiftpage announced that they would no longer sell the Act Pro product. Indeed, there was no Act Pro v23; however, there was an Act v24 Pro. Yesterday, Swiftpage announced that they are sunsetting Act v24 Pro on September 15, 2023 after which time you will not be able to purchase additional seats of Act Pro.
How Does the Sun Setting of Act Pro Effect You?
- This is your last chance to upgrade to Act! Pro 24 or add more seats to Act Pro v24. After September 15th, Premium subscription will be your only upgrade option.
- Act! v24 and higher are the only versions certified to work with Windows 11 and Office 2019, which means you won’t be able to install your older version of Act Pro on a new computer.
- Act v24 and higher are 64 bit compatible.
- Act! Pro v24 includes 150 fixes and enhancements. Effective 7/31/24 Swiftpage will no longer “support” Act Pro v24 which means it will not be updated to work with future versions of Windows & Office.

What is the pricing for Act standalone?
Hi Steve,
Thanks for stopping by Tech Benders! Not sure what you mean by “stand alone” Act! but I’m assuming you mean “non cloud.” You have two options:
• Purchase Act! v24 Pro using this link; the price is $449.99. Please note that the Act! Pro is being discontinued as of September 15, 2023.
• Purchase Act! Premium Desktop. This product is NOT cloud-based but it does require an annual renewal. The price is $300; if you are interested please reach out to Karen@TechBenders.com.
Can you tell me if I would be able to run ACT! V22 pro on Windows 11? I’m trying to determine if it would be worthwhile to upgrade to V24 pro. Thanks so much.
Hi Glen,
That’s a hard one to answer. Act v22 is not “certified” to run on Windows 11 which means there’s no guarantees that it will work correctly on Windows 11. Some users report that they can install it; others tell me they can’t. Some users say Act v22 works fine in Windows 11; others complain that certain features are missing or not working properly. A lot depends on which Act features you use. All I can recommend is that you try it before 9/15/23 so that if it doesn’t work for you there is still a chance to purchase Act v24 Pro which is both Windows 11 and 64 bit compatible.
I’m not sure you will want to help but here goes:
I am running Act! Pro Version 21.1.187.0, Update 3 on Win 10. I have been told that if I try to reinstall the software on a new machine with a valid key that the license management will not let me. Is this true?
Hi Vaughn,
Welcome to Tech Benders and yes, we are always willing to help when possible.
It’s hard for me to answer your question. If your new machine has Windows 11 it might not install correctly. In addition, the “license management” allows you to install on TWO machines so if you have already installed Act v21 twice you won’t be able to register it on a new (third) machine. Theoretically Act support can release one of the installs for you but honestly that will depend on the kindness of the tech that answers the call. They are not required to release activations on older products.
Is it possible to Manage Users on the old ACT! v15 without disaster? I need to make one inactive and another active but I am scared to try! It’s a pity we can’t block the licensing call somehow.
Phil, you are on a really old version of Act. I would compare your situation to walking over a tightrope. First of all, your license numbers can no longer be registered; the old licensing company Act used when you bought your licenses 10 years ago is no longer in business. You will run into an issue any time you try to install Act, move data or do anything else that might cause Act to reach out to the no longer existant Activation server. At some point in time your ability to access your database but it appears you want to keep trying for as long as possible. I’d purchase a few lottery tickets; maybe you’ll get lucky.
I want to move ACT Pro to another computer
Hi Kevin,
I’d love to help but unfortunately you did not tell me what version of Act Pro you have. First of all, I’m going to assume that you have your license number and that you know the Admin user name and password for the database as you’re going to need it.
A few other things I can tell you:
* If you have Act Pro v17 or older you won’t be able to install in on another machine as the license number you have is outdated and won’t register.
* If you have Act Pro v17-20 you will only be able to register your software if your license number begins with the letter “A”
* If you have Act Pro v22 or older and your new computer has Windows 11, you might run into issues with the installation as they two products aren’t compatible.
* If you have Act Pro v18-24 and you have already installed it twice you may have hit your activation limit and won’t be able to get beyond the 30 day demo
Hope this helps. If you need more information feel free to reach out.
