Selecting a CRM is NOT a “one size fits all” solution. For that reason Tech Benders recently decided to expand our product offerings to include three great products: Act CRM, Zoho One and HubSpot.
- Nearly every day someone reaches out to me with questions about a potential CRM product. Quite frankly, I have heard very little – if anything – about most of them. There are literally hundreds of CRM solution in the market today; I’m sure some of the smaller, lesser known players are “great” products but here are the things I think you should be asking when scouting out a possible CRM solution:
- How long has the product been in business?
- How many companies are currently using the product?
- Does the software have the features that YOUR company needs?
- Where do I go for training, consulting and support?
- Does the software integrate with the other software that I’m currently using?
- Does the price work within my budget?
- Optionally (if you are already using a CRM solution): can ALL of my data transfer successfully from my old solution to the new one?
When recommending a CRM solution to a potential client I listen for buzz words; for example, a prospect might mention “integrations” or “simplicity” or “growth.” I then recommend a CRM solution based on the specific needs of the prospect:
- Act: I put folks in Act that have fairly basic CRM needs. For example, they are looking to keep track of their contacts, add some notes, schedule appointments and optionally do some E-Marketing and keep a Sales Pipeline. They may also feel more comfortable keeping their data on their own work stations and servers than “being in the cloud.”
- HubSpot: A good candidate for HubSpot is a company that is looking to rapidly grow and expand their business. They are looking to attract prospects and convert them to customers in as little time as possible. They might be purchasing a list, relying on Facebook ads, or hoping to attract prospects to their website. HubSpot is the perfect solution for Prospects concentrating on growth.
- Zoho: My Zoho prospects’ main concern is with integrations. For example, they may be manufacturers and need to tie their inventory to their CRM. Or they may need to connect their CRM to specific solution for from real estate listings or insurance billing.
