Current Act Premium Subscription subscribers have been receiving emails lately that are, frankly, pretty confusing. Their “plans” are being changed. If you read between the lines this most probably means that the prices, they are a changing! But, in order to entice loyal users with Act Premium Subscriptions there is currently a great promotion in place to help you out. The issue is understanding it!
So I’m going to try to clear up your questions. First thing to know is that there are 3 e-marketing platforms that work with ACT!:
- SwiftPage Emarketing which was retired in June, 2019.
- ACT! Emarketing which is still around but will be retired soon; some of yo might even have one of the old “freebie” accounts that let you send to 200 – 500 of your Act contacts, depending on when you setup your account.
- ACT! Marketing Automation – the latest and greatest Emarketing product, and the one Swiftpage is really trying to promote.
But, the “latest and greatest” Act Marketing Automation product is only available as part of a bundle called “Growth Suite.” Growth Suite consists of three “core” products:
- Act Premium on ACT! Premium
- Hosting (you do NOT have to use this piece if you prefer not to)
- ACT! Marketing Automation for 10,000 emails/month
The suite also provides you with:
- SwiftPage support
- All new releases, updates and “patches”
- An app for your mobile devices
If you followed any of this you’ll see that the Growth Suite is a step up from the Premium product that was part of existing Act subscriptions. However, until now the pricing, which starts at $948, was a bit to steep for many Act users. However, most existing Act subscribers (those on current Loyalty, Bronze or Early Adapter plans) are eligible for the Growth Suite promotion. The pricing is currently $300 (less the $30 discount I give you) through December 20, 2019. Best of all, the price is guaranteed for 2 years.
I’m hoping you followed most of this. If not, please reach out and let me help answer your questions!
Hello Karen, I’ve been poking around google and your website, but haven’t found the answer yet.
I have a client that wants to move to Act! Growth. They have Act 2012 already. All their data is intact. When I export to CSV this doesn’t move all their note’s or documents attached to their clients.
Can this data be moved to Act’s new CRM? Is that something that you do?
Hi Brian, thank you for stopping by Tech Benders. LOL, I should tell you that I would transfer the data for $1000 but honestly, it won’t cost you a cent. Once you purchase Act Growth Suite your database will transfer over automatically. And Growth Suite includes support plus I’ll send you complete installation instructions should you purchase from me. Let me know if your client has Pro or Premium; there are 2 great promotions going on right now and I also offer an additional discount off of the SwiftPage pricing.
I’ve been using ACT for over 20 years. I updated from 2012 (version 6?) when I got a new computer 2 years ago. I like the e-marketing function, although I understand that’s going away. When I bought it I was told that e-marketing was only available in Premium (which I later found out was not true). I then renewed last fall at $420 which I later found out was the Growth Suite, which I don’t really use. I never created the online database, so I’m paying from Premium but operating as though on Pro. I’ve attached a copy of my last renewal.
I am a one-person independent sales agency. I think that Pro is probably enough. Maybe the Mail Chimp or Constant Contact add-in is ok?
I just need some professional guidance on how to best proceed.
Hi Steve,
Thanks for stopping by techbenders.com. Hopefully I’ll be able to straighten this out for you.
According to your invoice you did indeed purchase Act Growth Suite which includes hosting, Act Marketing Automation and support. Although you are not using the hosting aspect of the Growth Suite, This is indeed the only option if you want to have an integrated emarketing platform. I think you are confused between the older “Act Emarketing” which indeed worked with the Pro product, and “Act Marketing Automation” which is the newer product that does only work with Act Pro. The older “Act Emarketing” is being retired soon so I can’t see that as being a great option.
Yes you could purchase Mail Chimp or Constant Contact; not sure if you would be saving anything especially if you need to purchase an addon product to tie it back to Act. The integration will be cumbersome and you probably won’t end up with everything you were hoping for.
By the way, your 2020 renewal will be in the amount of $450; if you want to switch to me I sell the same exact thing for $405.
Hope this helps!
Karen
Can you tell me if it integrates with gmail? We have google suite.
Hi Jennifer,
Yes, Premium will integrate with Google. However, google frequently changes their settings so you will have to reach out to ACT! support if and when those settings change. That’s why I recommend the Premium product over Pro.
