Why Zoho CRM Plus Crushes Act! CRM: A Deep Dive

zoho crm plusChoosing a CRM isn’t just about tracking contacts — it’s about enabling your business to sell smarter, market better, and support customers consistently. Zoho CRM Plus is a complete customer-experience suite, while Act! CRM is more of a traditional contact management tool. And when you put them side by side, the advantages are hard to ignore.

What Makes Zoho CRM Plus Different

Zoho CRM Plus is more than a CRM. It bundles multiple apps into one integrated platform, including:

  • CRM for sales automation

  • SalesIQ for website visitor tracking and live chat

  • Zoho Desk for customer support ticketing

  • Zoho Campaigns and Zoho Social for marketing automation

  • Zoho Survey, Zoho Projects, and Zoho Analytics

Because everything is unified, your teams share one database, one login, and one source of truth. Sales, marketing, and support all work in sync instead of in disconnected systems.

Where Act! CRM Falls Behind

Act! CRM is familiar for many older businesses, but it begins to show its age when companies need modern capabilities. Zoho CRM Plus pulls ahead in several ways:

1. Unified Tools vs. Separate Systems

Act! focuses mainly on sales and contact management. Zoho CRM Plus unifies sales, marketing, website engagement, and support so teams collaborate better with a full 360° customer view.

2. Modern, Streamlined Interface

Act!’s interface can feel dated and less intuitive. Zoho provides a modern UI with automation, dashboards, and workflow tools designed for today’s business environment.

3. Stronger Integrations and Ecosystem

Zoho CRM Plus connects deeply across social, chat, marketing, support, analytics, and third-party services. You don’t need to glue multiple systems together to run your business.

4. More Automation and Intelligence

Zoho’s AI assistant, Zia, helps with predictions, alerts, anomaly detection, and lead scoring — features that are far more developed than in Act!.

5. Built to Scale

As your business grows, Zoho CRM Plus grows with you. You can add users, apps, and teams without switching platforms or adding bolt-on tools.

Bonus Advantages

  • Omnichannel support — email, chat, phone, and social in one place

  • Website visitor monitoring and engagement

  • Centralized analytics across marketing, sales, and support

  • Lower overall cost than buying separate tools

  • One admin console for user management and billing

When Act! Might Still Make Sense

Act! CRM can still work for very small teams that only need basic contact management. But for companies that want:

  • true automation,

  • integrated communication,

  • customer service tools,

  • centralized reporting,

  • or long-term scalability,

Act! becomes a limiting step rather than a growth platform.

Final Takeaway

Act! CRM helps you manage contacts.
Zoho CRM Plus helps you manage the entire customer experience and grow your business.

If you want a system where your sales, marketing, support, analytics, and website engagement all live together — not in separate tools — Zoho CRM Plus is the modern, cost-effective, and scalable choice.

    Hi,

In order to get you an exact conversion quote for Act to Zoho I need a backup of your database. There’s a lot more involved in an Act database than just your number of contacts. I’m also not a fan of Zoho CRM Plus; I think there are other Zoho plans that are much more cost effective.

Can you please give me a quote to do a ACT to ZohoCRMPlus conversion? I have 29k records (yes some are very old) I have been using ACT for about 30 years.

I tried to go from ACT to LeadMaster but they could not get the Notes transferred over and i’m now finding issues with syncing with outlook. I’ve worked on this for over a month and now finding out that I don’t think it is going to work and I have a new sales guy starting on Dec 1st that I had planned on being ready with the new CRM system.

I started up my trial of Zoho CRM Plus again and ran across your site and liked what I read about how you can do a clean conversion including Notes, Activities etc.
