What is API?

API stands for Application Programming Interface. APIs define how software components interact, making it possible for developers to build applications that can interact with other software applications or services.

APIs provide a standard interface for software components to communicate with each other, regardless of the programming language, platform, or operating system used. APIs can be used to retrieve data from other software applications, automate tasks, or integrate software components into a larger system.
