Yes, We Can Help Fix ANY Act Database!

act databaseThis message from my website absolutely made my day:

Visitor: “Do you work with Act! for DOS 1.1?”
Me: “Is that a typo? You mean Act! 21.1, right? Act! 1.1 is nearly 30 years old.”
Visitor: “Nope. Still using Act! 1.1. Attached a photo.”

Before I moved on to Zoho CRM, I spent over 20 years consulting on Act! and have since converted hundreds of Act! databases to Zoho. Some switch for more functionality, others for better pricing — and a few because their database should probably be in the Smithsonian.

We still repair old Act! databases (we even keep Act! 2.0 for DOS diskettes—just in case). My “database whisperer” Kim Winton, who worked at Symantec back when they owned Act!, will be working her magic on this one.

Once the data’s recovered, we’ll move her to the free edition of Zoho Bigin—because clearly, she’s made a lifelong commitment to not spending money on software. 😄

Need help with your Act Database or just looking for a change? We’re here to help!

    Hi Steve,

Absolutely we can help! We do need a bit more information specifically your Act version and your operating system. Although we can’t “fix” the issue if there is an incompatibility problem (eg, you have Act 22 Pro on a Windows 11 machine) we can extract all of your Act data and import it into a less expensive alternative to Act such as Zoho Bigin or Zoho CRM.

I’ve been using my ACT! for a long time. I think the latest version is v26. Yesterday I tried to open my main database and I got the following msg: heading: “Error Accessing Database” msg: “The database XXXXXXXXX could not be accessed. In order to access this database, check your network connection and verify that your database server is available. It may be necessary to disable any firewall software on your computer or the server. Last line: Press F1 for a troubleshooting guide.

I have way too much data in ACT! to lose it. Can you help?
